It is thanks to the more than 1,200 sponsors that this famous game classic returns to the new robe, even here in the world of board games.
"Sanct Petersburg" is mostly about money – and this is usually scarce. In order to get ahead in the city and with the more than 100 cards, players have to go through five phases in which they buy, buy, buy – if they can! In the first phase, the ruble rolls mainly for craftsmen. In the second phase, the new market comes into play, which opens up additional resources with its new mechanics to generate points and rubles. Then 'buildings' bring the desired victory points. Amazingly, 'tired' are less valuable during the game as one might suspect in the fourth phase, but they have the longer lever as it shows at the end of the game. At first nix there are in the fifth and last phase, in which the 'reconstruction cards' play an important role, but to do without them, no one can afford...
The new "Sankt Petersburg" also gets the special kick again through a series of special cards equipped with special features. For example, the 'goldsmith', which presses the purchase price of 'Adeligen'; or the 'Schreinerei', which reduces the costs of buildings. Popular and so completely different from in the right life is the 'tax driver', which ensures additional points in the score.
Also new is the Foreign Minister, with whose map portrait the two illustrators Anne Pätzke and Irene Bressel "Sankt Petersburg" author Bernd Brunnhofer set a small 'think'. The Hans in Glück-Chef as well as the co-author Karl-Heinz Schmiel are not the only ones who find themselves on individual cards of the new edition: crowdfunder and scene-insider, who have made themselves particularly worthy of the realization of the complete revision, appear as 'exchangeable' and borrow among others the 'hoofmaster', 'Abt' or 'Baumeister'. A beautiful bow to dedicated "games-vaps" that could make school.
St. Petersburg is winner of the German Games Prize 2004 and nominated for the 2004 match.
