Stranded on a lonely island, Pedro tries to find a safe path. Surrounding the island is water, which is teaming with piranhas. Pedro is unsure which way to go. The main aim of the game is to help Pedro find a safe route. Players own movement cards, from values 1-3 in the four major directions. Players each secretly select one of these cards to be used during each round. Pedros then moves according to the cards played by each player in sequence. If Pedro is requested to go over water, then the appropriate requesting player must use up a stone from his personal supply, so that Pedro retains dry! If that player has no stones left in his supply, then Pedro falls into the water. That player then receives a Piranha and a new round begins.
Piranha Pedro was the first game in BSW, where no single player wins alone, it is the loser who gets no points. The game is easily learned. One doesn't even need to read the rules, (which is written in comic book fashion in German). The game is a pleasure to play. You can also try to trick your opponents by bluffing where you might go.
Piranha Pedro was designed by the Team Annaberg (who also designed Trans America).
