You play as an apprentice in Morty Sorty's Magic Shop and have to place jars of ingredients on your shelf. The goal is to have the best-organized shelf and collect star points in the process.
You can find the complete rules here
The game includes 104 double-sided glass tiles with different colored lids (black, silver, gold, blue) and ingredients (eye, mandrake, mushroom, cloud).
At the beginning, 4 random tiles are removed – in a two-player game, 23 tiles are removed.
Everyone receives 2 kittens and 2 awards are laid out.
5 tiles are placed randomly in the display (4 in a two-player game). Everyone takes turns selecting a tile.
If you do not want to make a move, you can pass and take a kitten from the supply.
If you take a tile, place it on your shelf, observing the following placement rules:
The tile must be placed on an empty space on your shelf.
The tile may not be turned over (except by a kitten).
The numbers on the tiles must be in ascending order from left to right in each row of the shelf.
Each number may only appear once in each row of the shelf (i.e., no identical numbers may be placed next to each other – exception: kittens).
The type of lid determines in which row of shelves the tiles may be placed:
Gold: in all 3 rows of shelves
Silver: only in the middle and bottom rows of shelves
Black: only in the bottom row of shelves
If you have placed three different ingredients in a column, you may take any tile with a blue lid from the special glass bar and place it on your shelf.
Tiles with blue lids can be placed on any shelf row. However, the other placement rules must still be followed.
If you cannot or do not want to take a special glass tile, you can pass instead and take a kitten.
When you return a kitten to the supply, you may either place a tile you have just taken (from the display or the special glass bar) on your shelf with the same number as an adjacent tile, or flip it over (to get a different ingredient) before placing it on your shelf.
Any remaining kittens are worth 2 star points each at the end of the game.
Once you have filled one of your shelf rows completely with tiles, you receive the bonus for that row.
You receive the kitten immediately and the star points at the end of the game.
In some places, shelf labels are attached underneath. At the end of the game, you receive star points for each tile that you have placed on the matching shelf label.
Shelf tableau side A
At the end of the game, you receive Star Points according to the table for the number of tiles placed on a given number.
Shelf Board Side B
At the end of the game, you receive 6 star points for each set of 2 spaces with shelf labels of the same ingredient, each of which has a tile of the corresponding ingredient placed on it.
As soon as you fulfill the requirements for a badge, place one of your scoring markers on the next available pennant from the left. At the end of the game, you receive the star points indicated above.
The first player to complete a badge also receives a kitten. You can only complete each badge once.
After everyone has placed a tile or passed, the remaining tiles are placed in the display and are no longer available in this game.
If the display cannot be completely refilled, the game ends immediately and scoring takes place.
Star points are awarded for completed shelf rows, ingredients according to the scoring roll(s), shelf labels, remaining kittens, and completed badges.
Basic game: For each ingredient, you receive points according to the table, depending on the number of your tiles.
Additional scoring rolls (advanced game):
The player with the most star points wins. In the event of a tie, the player with the most star points for a single ingredient wins.
If there is still a tie, the victory is shared.
