Like its predecessor 6 Nimmt!, 11 Nimmt! is a card game about managing horned cattle. Each player attempts to play their ten cards so as to get the fewest negative points. The played card must be higher than all of the cards in the discard piles. If the card you play cannot be within 10 points of the card shown then you will take the discard pile. This is why it is called 11 Nimmt!
The game comprises of 100 cards and ten bull cards. Each player receives ten normal cards beef, the remaining cards are used as a draw pile. A card is then selected at randon map for the first discard pile. The bull cards will be used during the game
The game takes place over as many rounds as there are players. Each player tries to get rid of their cards as quickly as possible. During their turn, they have two possible actions:
or
To play a crad you must follow the following rules:
Example: if the top card of the discard pile is a 54, one can only play the cards 55-64.
Once card #100 is played, it can then be followed by cards 1, 2, 3 .....
As long as you still have no Bull cards (see below), you may only take one card.
To play you simply select the appropriate card in your hand and then click on the desired discard pile (at the beginning of the game, only one discard pile is available).
The Current Action display (5) must be showing a green arrow.
If you cannot play a legal card, then you must pick up the discard pile.
To perform this action you must click on the Current Action display and change to the red arrow. Now you can choose a pile. All cards in the pile are now added to your own hand cards. If you take three or more cards from a discard pile, you will also receive a Bull card (4). This enables you now to play several cards on one discard pile. Normal rules apply
Example: If a top card of a discard pile is a 54, the owner of a bull card could play cards 56, 59, 60 and 64.
Every time a discard pile needs to be taken, two cards from the draw pile are added as a new avalable discard pile face up. Therefore during the game you will have more and more discard piles to choose from.
If you acquire two bull cards you may play in two discard piles with multiple cards. With three cards you may play in three piles, qty of Bulls etc. If you have several bull cards, but would like to make as few moves as possible then simply click on the black Pawn.
If the ten bull cards of the game have already been dealt, the player who should have taken the eleventh card, receives one from the player who has the most. In case of a tie he can choose who to take it from.
Once a player manages to discard all his cards, the round ends. The number of cattle shown on each card are counted (not the number of cards or their play values) and is scored as a negative value for that player. The player with the most negative points plays first in the next round.
The game ends once as many rounds as participants have been played. Whoever has collected the least negative points wins the game.
